Marolin Glass Ornament - Clown Head with Red Cap, Patinated

NEW for 2023. Blown glass ornaments from Germany's Marolin® Manufaktur. Known for its handcrafting of both papier mâché and mouth blown glass ornaments in the Lauscha traditions. Marolin ornaments are mouth blown glass with hand painted details.

The Clown with Cap is made using moulds from the 1920's and 30's which themselves were based on historical designs of porcelain dolls. The details of the face are quite remarkable with tiny, tiny hearts painted on the cheeks. A patina is applied after painting to give the ornament its nostalgic vintage look.
