Sneak Peek #2: New Smoker Figures for Christmas 2025

Our Christmas 2025 collection at Gingerbread World is growing — and we’re so excited to give you a first look at the new Smoker figures coming this Fall!

If you’re new to Smokers, you might be wondering:

What is a Smoker figure?
Smoker figures are traditional handcrafted decorations made from wood, designed to gently release the scent of incense. You place a small smouldering cone inside the hollow body of the figure, and the smoke curls up through the mouth (or chimney!) — like the figure is smoking its pipe or breathing out in cold winter air.

Smokers have been made for generations in Seiffen, Germany — a beautiful village nestled in the Ore Mountains (the Erzgebirge region). Seiffen is famous for its rich tradition of wooden folk art, including Smokers, Nutcrackers, and Christmas Pyramids.

Why would I want a Smoker as part of my Christmas decorations?
A Smoker adds a sense of old-world charm and cozy tradition to your holiday home. They’re delightful to watch in action — the soft curl of fragrant smoke brings warmth and a little bit of magic to the room. Smokers also connect us to a long history of European Christmas celebrations, where handcrafted wooden decorations were cherished and handed down through generations.

Do Smoker figures make a good gift?
Absolutely. Smokers are thoughtful, meaningful gifts — perfect for anyone who loves Christmas traditions, beautiful craftsmanship, or German culture. They’re especially great for collectors or for starting a new holiday tradition with family and friends.
