Shopping at Gingerbread World is a little different – here’s what you need to know:
1. We’re not Amazon 😉
We’re a small shop in Winnipeg, Canada. I (Tamara) curate the collections and pack the boxes myself, with my wonderful colleague Elizabeth looking after Customer Service.
2. Limited Quantities
All items are imported once a year from Europe. When they sell out (or pre-sell), they’re gone until next year.
3. In Stock vs. Pre-Order
- Add to Cart = item is in stock and ships within 2–3 business days.
- Pre-Order = item will ship later in the fall when it arrives from Europe.
- Sold Out = no more stock this season.
👉 Important: If your order contains both in-stock and pre-order items, the whole order will ship once everything has arrived. (You may choose to split your order, but shipping will be charged twice.)
What Happens When You Order?

Your payment is charged right away.

Your item is reserved and removed from inventory.

Pre-Orders ship in the fall once our shipment from Europe has landed.

When Do Products Arrive in Canada?
- Lebkuchen Schmidt (incl. Wicklein & Gluten Free): early November
- Advent Calendars: late October (although some are already here)
- Chocolate, Marzipan, Confections: late October
- Wooden Ornaments (Smokers, Nutcrackers, Pyramids, etc.): mid-September
FAQs
Why do I pay now for a Pre-Order?
Because stock is limited and we only receive one shipment per year. Pre-payment reserves your item before it sells out.
When will I get my order?
As soon as all items on your order are in stock. If you’ve purchased only in-stock items, your order ships within 2–3 business days.
Can I ship in-stock items right away?
Yes, but you’ll need to place a separate order for them (with separate shipping).
Can I have my order shipped to the USA?
At the moment we’re unable to ship to the U.S. due to trade policies that make cross-border orders complicated and costly. We know many of our longtime American customers are disappointed, and so are we. Please know we’re researching options and hope to serve you again in the future.
