Gnome Smokers or Traditionswichtel Räucherfiguren

These beautiful wooden figures are handcrafted in the Erzgebirge Region of Germany. Smokers or Räucherfiguren are made in two parts allowing for a smoldering Incense Cone to be hidden inside so that the fragrant smoke will curl up through a small hole in the figure - making him look like he's really smoking a pipe or has frosty breath.

These Gnome Smokers (in German "Wichtel") with their tall hats and long beards are handmade by artisans at Seiffener Volkskunst in the town of Seiffen - the wooden toy capital of Germany.
