Fraunholz Gluten Free Lebkuchen Konfekt, Chocolate

I visited this small, family run bakery in Nuremberg and was so impressed with the people and product. Michael Fraunholz, the fourth generation owner and manager, suggested we bring in the Gluten Free Lebkuchen Konfekt, Chocolate as it had become, in the last few years, his number one pastry.

So here is the soft, German gingerbread Konfekt - Elisen Lebkuchen cut into bars and coated on three sides with German dark chocolate. AND IT'S GLUTEN FREE - how excellent is that!?

Ingredients

Almonds and hazelnuts (total 45%), sugar, orange and lemon peel (citric acid, antioxidant: sulfur dioxide), egg white, apricot jam (apricots, sugar, gelling agent: pectin, acid: citric acid, flavoring), honey, marzipan (almonds, sugar, invert sugar syrup), chocolate (cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, emulsifier: soya lecithin, vanilla extract, may contain traces of milk), spices, raising agent (potassium carbonate).
