Seiffener Volkskunst Modern Pyramid - Christmas Nativity Scene

A modern take on the iconic Christmas Pyramid. All the key figures from the Christmas story are presented in natural wood in a variety of species. In addition to Mary and Joseph and the baby Jesus, a shepherd attends with sheep and the Three Kings travel round on their way to the stable. 

Although the folk art of carving and turning "toys" from wood is a centuries old tradition in the Erzgebirge region of northeast Germany, the art form continues to evolve and young artist-entrepreneurs are designing and creating modern departures from convention.
