Wendt & Kühn Grünhainichen Angel - Angel with Trumpet, Sitting

This Angel with Trumpet has special meaning for me personally as I played the trumpet in my youth and enjoyed joining orchestral groups to play at concerts and weddings. I love the bright brashness of the instrument but also the smooth tones a gifted musician can elicit from it.

Named for the town in Germany where these precious figures are made, the Grünhainichen Angels were first sketched and created in 1923 by founder Grete Wendt. Each Angel has exactly eleven white dots on their little green wings – their famous trademark the world over.
