Best Options for Lebkuchen Newcomers
Lots of people are finding out about Lebkuchen for the first time and they ask us what we recommend as a good starter package.
We love that question!
So here are our top suggestions for trying Lebkuchen:
A Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That
Choose a cello pack of Lebkuchen – pick from glazed, chocolate or plain nut. Then add a Mini Stollen and a small pack of Dominosteine. Click on any of the coloured words in this sentence to go to the product page and pop those into your Shopping Cart.
Lebkuchen Cookies Only
If you just want hardcore Lebkuchen (no Stollen or other treats) then our suggestion is the Assorted Premium Trio. This excellent combination includes Lebkuchen Schmidt’s Lebkuchen of the Year – Queen Elisen – as well as two customer favourites: Plum Cinnamon Elisen and Black (double chocolate) Elisen. All "Elisen" Lebkuchen - meaning more nuts and more nut oils - yay!
Lebkuchen for Special Diets
Don't be left out! Gluten Free, Vegan and Organic options are available for you to try. Choose a packet of cookies that meets your needs. Remember that Lebkuchen is fundamentally a nut cookie - so there are no nut free options :(
The Small Festive Box is one of my personal favourites because you get a little of everything PLUS the decorative metal Festive Tin as a keepsake. This super-packed box includes different types of Lebkuchen cookies as well as Stollen and Dominsteine AND some other traditional German Christmas pastries. Try these various pastries with coffee or tea or (and perhaps better!) a glass of wine or light liqueur.
Go Big or Go Home!
If you’re one of those that likes to jump into new taste encounters in a big way then there’s only one option – the grand Festive Chest. This is the full experience! Inside the majestic metal gift chest is everything a newcomer to Lebkuchen could love: Lebkuchen, Stollen, traditional German Christmas cookies (including my own personal favourite called Dürer Brot – small bite-sized light gingerbread with a milk chocolate base). There’s enough in this big chest to enjoy for yourself and to offer guests as well as to wrap some items up as stocking stuffers or host gifts.
In addition to the Lebkuchen and pastries Gingerbread World offers a number of uniquely European confections and handcrafted gifts and ornaments. We hope you’ll browse through all of our Collections as you shop for Christmas gifts, ornaments and treats.
So glad you found my little European Christmas Market online.
